Symptoms of kidney stones include stomach aches, blood in urine, nausea, vomiting, fever, chills, cloudy or discolored urine, pain or burning sensation during urination, sharp lower back pain, and varying abdominal pain intensity.

Several factors can increase your risk of developing kidney stones, such as a family or personal history of stones, being a Caucasian male, dehydration, certain diets high in salt, protein, calcium, and/or sugar, obesity, inactivity or prolonged bedrest, digestive or metabolic diseases, prior surgery, and certain supplements or medications.
